Simple Voice Chat has been added to the Minecraft server and is now available for all Java Edition players!
- Note: I’ll be covering setup for Fabric, Modrinth, and Lunar Client only as other methods are either outdated or not recommended. If you already use Forge, I’m assuming know how to install mods already, so I won’t be writing a separate tutorial for it.
Fabric is a lightweight mod loader that makes installing Minecraft mods simple and efficient. Here’s how to manually install Simple Voice Chat using Fabric.
Install Fabric. Visit fabricmc.net/use/installer and download the Fabric Installer for Windows. Once the file finishes downloading, open it and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Make sure to install Fabric for Minecraft version 1.21 or higher. Take note of the version you select since you’ll need it later.
After installation completes, open your Minecraft Launcher. You should now see a new installation auto-selected labeled “fabric.”
- If it isn’t selected automatically, go to the Installations tab and look for “fabric.” If you still don’t see it, click New Installation, then select fabric as the version.,
Open Your Mods Folder. In the Minecraft Launcher, hover over your Fabric installation. Click the folder that appears on the right. This will open your .minecraft folder. In here, find the folder labeled “mods.” Open it. If you don’t see one, create a new folder and name it mods. Keep this window open and minimize it for now.
Install Simple Voice Chat, Visit modrinth.com/plugin/simple-voice-chat Click Download. Under Game Version, select the version you installed Fabric for. Under Platform, select Fabric. Once download completes, open your Downloads folder. Drag the Simple Voice Chat file into your mods folder. Close both folders and launch the game. You should now be able to use Simple Voice Chat!
